<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Latanoprost, an analogue of class F2α prostaglandins, has been on the glaucoma hypotensive treatment market for almost 30 years, being the drug of first choice due to its high efficiency, good tolerability and minimal dosage. The drug is effective in all ages and is approved in pediatric practice from 1 year. According to numerous studies, latanoprost monotherapy can reduce IOP by an average of 22–39 % from the initial level over several years; a decrease in the hypotensive effect over time has not been noted. Latanoprost is compatible with all other groups of antiglaucoma drugs, demonstrating an additive effect.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>глаукома</kwd><kwd>латанопрост</kwd><kwd>гипотензивная терапия</kwd><kwd>монотерапия</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>glaucoma</kwd><kwd>latanoprost</kwd><kwd>hypotensive treatment</kwd><kwd>monotherapy</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">никто из авторов не имеет финансовой заинтересованности в представленных материалах или методах</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">no author has a financial or property interest in any material or method mentioned</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Korbecki J, Baranowska-Bosiacka I, Gutowska I, Chlubek D.
