Abdul-Gamid D. Aliev - Dr. Med. Sci., Professor, Head of Chair of Ophthalmology, Dagestan State Medical Academy, Makhachkala, Republic of Dagestan, Russia; 

In 1972 he graduated, with distinction, from Dagestan State Medical Institute. Ph. D. from Odessa V.P. Filatov Research Institute of Eye Diseases in 1980. Thesis: “Studying the conditions for a rational correction of astigmatism. Dr. of Med. Sci. from Moscow Helmholtz Research Institute of Eye Diseases in 1992. Thesis: “Aberrations of the Optical System of the eye in normal and pathological conditions and their role in the process of visual activity”. From 2002 to 2017, Prof. Aliev was the director of Dagestan Center of Eye Microsurgery. At present he is a consultant to this center. He is the author of over 500 publications, three books (“Aberrations of the optical system of the eye during artificial lens implantation”, Moscow 2000; “Thermoelectric semiconductor converters in medicine”, Makhachkala, 2000, and “A concise reference book in dacryology”, Makhachkala, 2006) and over 35 patents for inventions and useful models. Main fields of research: clinical aberrations of the optical system of the eye, the effect of the optical system quality of the eye on visual functions in diverse optical and reconstructive interventions and pathological conditions.
