Ernest V. Boiko – Dr. Med. Sci., Professor, Director of St. Petersburg Branch of the S.N. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Clinic, St. Petersburg, Russia. Honored Doctor of Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of Military Medical Academy. Graduated from Military Medical Academy, St. Petersburg, in 1985. From 2003 to 2015 Prof. Boiko was the head of chair of ophthalmology in the Military Medical Academy, St. Petersburg, principal ophthalmologist of the Defense Ministry of Russia. He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the European society EURETINA. He is the author of more than 500 publications, 6 books, and 30 Russian patents. Main fields of research: laser and vitreal eye microsurgery, ophthalmic oncology, ocular injuries, infections and inflammatory eye diseases.
