Natalia B. Chesnokova

Natalia B. Chesnokova - Dr. of Biol. Sci., Professor, Head of the Department of Pathophysiology and Biochemistry, Helmholtz National Medical Research Center of Eye Diseases, Russia.

Graduated from the medico-biological faculty of 2nd Moscow N.I.Pirogov state medical institute in biochemistry in 1970. In the same year, she joined a post-graduate program in the National Helmholtz Research Center of Eye Diseases. Since 1979, she has been working in this center, first at the research department of biochemical processes in the eye, which was later reorganized to become the department of pathological physiology and biochemistry. Since 1988, she has been the head of this department. She is the author of more than 250 publications and Russian patents. Main fields of research: biochemical and pathophysiological foundations of the pathogenesis of eye diseases, creation of experimental models of eye diseases, development of new methods of diagnostics and treatment of eye diseases and new medications.
