Graduated from the medical treatment faculty, 2nd Moscow N.I.Pirogov state medical institute. Ph.D. (1988). Thesis; “Reactive hypertension after cataract extraction”. Dr.Med.Sci. (1996), Thesis: “Diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the combined form of glaucoma». Prof. Ryabtseva is the author of 37 inventions, 3 books, and over 460 publications in Russian and foreign journals. Main fields of research: development of combined treatment techniques for patients with optic nerve atrophy of diverse origins, congenital diseases of eye adnexa, progressive myopia and accommodation disorders, combination of myopia with glaucoma and cataract, early diagnostics and correction of ophthalmic complications of diabetes mellitus.
