Graduated from the Military medical faculty of Tomsk medical institute in 1971. From 1991 to 2002, he worked at the chair of ophthalmology of the Military medical academy, where he progressed in his career from senior resident to the Chief of Chair of ophthalmology of the Military medical academy and the chief ophthalmologist of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. В Ph.D. (1993). Thesis: “Global volume surgery of complicated forms of retinal detachment”. Dr.Med.Sci. (2000). Thesis: “ Anterior proliferative vitreoretinopathy (pathogenesis, treatment, prevention)”. Main fields of research: development of new technologies of vitreoretinal surgery in various eye pathologies. He is the author of more than 80 publications and 10 Russian patents, and a coauthor of 10 books.
