Andrey V. Zolotarev, Dr. Med. Sci., Professor, Head of Chair of Ophthalmology, Samara State Medical University, Director of the Samara Research Institute of Eye Diseases, Chief ophthalmologist of the Ministry of Health of the Samara region, Samara, Russia.

Graduated from Kuybyshev D.Ulyanov State Medical Institute in 1988. Since 2001, Prof. Zolotarev is a member of American and European societies of cataract surgeons. In 2001, he received an awardfor best research work at the 1^st International Congress of nonpenetrating glaucoma surgery (Switzerland). He is the author of more than 150 publications, a coauthor of National Guidelines of Ophthalmology, and 10 Russian patents. Main fields of research: glaucoma pathogenesis and surgical treatment, eye accommodation, cataract, refraction anomalies.
